AUDITIONS FOR CHRISTMAS CAROL AT LTCC’S DUKE THEATRE

Auditions for Charles Dickens’ classic play, A Christmas Carol , will be held at Lake Tahoe Community College’s Duke Theatre on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. Performances of the play take place Nov. 12-22. Actors of all ages and ethnic backgrounds are sought, from age 10 to 65. All actors will play multiple characters, except for the actor playing Ebenezer Scrooge. There are several roles available for boys and girls, including the role of Tiny Tim.

This quick-paced, highly theatrical re-telling of Dickens’ classic tale will delight the entire family.

It is Christmas in 19th Century England, and the embittered, ungenerous, and Ebenezer Scrooge is taken on a harrowing journey through his past, present, and future by the three frightening Ghosts of Christmas as he is warned to change his ways.

Before auditioning, actors should read the play and become familiar with it. Scripts will be available on reserve at LTCC’s Roberta Mason Library. Audition sides will also be available in the Duke Theatre lobby, and listed on the Theatre Arts Department’s Facebook page one week prior to auditions.

In addition to acting roles, LTCC is also seeking Light and Sound Board operators, a Stage Manager, backstage crew, and construction workers. For more information about these positions and this production of A Christmas Carol, please call LTCC’s Theatre Arts Department at (530) 541-4660 ext. 240, or follow us on Facebook at http://www.Facebook.com/LTCCTheatreArts.
