Tahoe Douglas Rotary will host its 45th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration March 15.
The event, which takes place at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, includes a traditional Irish buffet, wine tasting, entertainment and a silent auction. All proceeds raised during the evening will benefit the community through grants, scholarships, donations and work projects. Event chairman Todd Poth, hopes to raise more than $50,000 during the night through ticket sales, silent auction proceeds, Hawaiian vacation raffle ticket sales and other special activities. He has told club members that he will dye his beard green for the month of March if he reaches this goal.
Tickets cost $60 each and includes one raffle ticket for a trip to Hawaii. This year’s trip includes one week in a two-bedroom unit at the Paniolo Greens on Hawaii and $1,000 in cash. Additional raffle tickets will also be available for $5 each and can be purchased throughout South Lake Tahoe from agencies and groups that the Rotary club supports. Contact club members, Boys and Girls Club, Tahoe Youth and Family Services, Lake Tahoe Shining Stars, Tahoe Regional Young Professionals as well as many other groups.
