Novasel to run for county supervisor

Lake Tahoe Unified School District board member Sue Novasel announced her intention Wednesday to run for the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors District 5 seat. The seat will be up for election on the June 3, 2014, ballot.

Current El Dorado County Supervisor Norma will be termed out of the seat, according to a statement from Novasel.

“I am dedicated to our local community and will work hard to assure our voice is heard in Placerville,” Novasel said. “I plan to create a committee and get my campaign going within the next few weeks. Although there is still plenty of time to plan, I am passionate about our district, committed to work hard and anxious to reach out and meet with as many residents in our district as possible over the next six months.”

Novasel has served eight years on the school district board, is a member of the Meyers Community Plan Team and has served on the steering committee for Lakeview Commons. She is the president-elect for the Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe, vice president for Lake Tahoe Wildlife Center, vice president for the South Lake Tahoe Wedding and Honeymoon Association and a board member of the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce, according to the statement.
