No injuries were reported following a crash at the intersection of Pioneer Trail and U.S. Highway 50 near Meyers Monday afternoon.
A U.S. Forest Service fire chief was turning left onto Highway 50, heading toward a fire near Kyburz with lights and sirens activated, when the 2009 Chevy Silverado he was driving collided with an eastbound motor home driven by a 87-year-old Pleasant Hill man about 1:40 p.m., according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the motor home did not see or hear the Forest Service vehicle, according to the CHP report. The crash blocked the intersection for a short period of time.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
