Teen dies at Camp Sacramento

El Dorado County Coroner’s Detectives have determined that the 13-year-old girl who died Friday evening at Camp Sacramento died of a severe allergic reaction.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a child not breathing about 10:40 p.m., according to a press release. Paramedics were performing CPR on the girl when deputies arrived to coordinate a landing zone for a Care Flight helicopter dispatched from Reno. The girl was transported via ambulance to Barton Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The child’s family members were present during the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

Camp Sacramento is located off Highway 50 in Twin Bridges.
