Summer’s Thursday night concert series at Lakeview Commons has become as much of a community event as a musical one.
And organizers of an Oct. 3 “garden party” in South Lake Tahoe hope to keep that vibe alive into the fall.
The Garden Party at Holly’s Place is “less of a music festival and more of a gathering of local people,” said Dan Green, a South Shore musician and organizer of the event, on Monday.
The outdoor event aims to highlight as much local artistic talent as possible and features musical performances by Adient Zoo, Groovebox and Black Star Safari. Four Piece Puzzle and Deep Fryed Mojo have also signed to the event, Green said. It will be the first time Adient Zoo has played in four or five months, according to the guitarist.
The “day of food, family and fun” will help raise money for the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department, Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care and Father’s House Ministries, which supports veterans returning from overseas, Green said.
The event is dog friendly and will feature a beer and wine garden, barbecue, door prizes and family friendly activities in addition to the live music.
Holly’s Place is a two-acre cabin retreat in the Bijou neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe. Green described the venue as “a really cool little spot” and “a little oasis.”
