Burlesque will take center stage at the South Shore this weekend with the debut of a new revue at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa.
“Sweet Talk: A Delicious Electro-Cirque Kiss” premieres Sunday in the casino’s showroom and runs every Friday and Saturday night through April 5.
The “unique burlesque review” features exotic dancers, aerialists, a fire performer and sword swallower, according to a press release for the show.
“Each 70-minute burlesque risqué production is a high-energy, light and sound multimedia experience where dramatic high-flying cirque art blends with exotic female and male dancers who swing, dive and fly to beat-driven music mixed live by DJ Viola LaLa Mia,” according to the release. The “feast of outrageous light, color and sound” also features special guest appearances by San Francisco’s Lovely LauraLynn Featherpistol, an aerial pole dancer.
The revue is produced by Champagne Productions and is a first-of-its kind for MontBleu, which bills the revue as a “larger-than-life Vegas-style production.”
“It’s bigger. There’s a lot more capabilities because of the stage and crew,” said Jessica Broyles, the owner of Champagne Productions, during a rehearsal of the revue Jan. 10.
The show features popular electronic dance music, including Lorde and Alt-J. Having a live DJ allows for manipulation of the music during the show, which is a unique aspect of the revue.
“I think that’s kind of a cool element of the performance,” Broyles said.
Doors open for the inaugural show at 8 p.m. Sunday with the performance starting at 8:30 p.m. The show is for those 21 and older. Tickets cost $25 and are available at the www.montbleuresort.com, the MontBleu Box Office or by calling 888-829-7630.
