No bomb found after threat at Sierra-at-Tahoe

Police investigating a bomb threat Tuesday afternoon at Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski Resort were unable to find any sort of device, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Lt. Pete Van Arnum said Tuesday night.

The anonymous threat was called in about 3 p.m. specific to the lodge, and the area was evacuated immediately, marketing director Mindi Befu said Tuesday. Lifts were shut down by 3:30 p.m.

About 300 people were evacuated, Van Arnum said. Two California Highway Patrol bomb-sniffing dogs were used to check the buildings, but were unable to find anything. Police ended their search about 7:30 p.m.
