Popular South Shore rock group Lavish Green returned from a more than yearlong hiatus this summer, playing a much-anticipated show at the Live at Lakeview concert series.
Lake Tahoe music fans will likely be seeing more of the longtime group as it returns to familiar stomping grounds, according to guitarist Joel Gruneich.
The band, founded in 1995, is writing music and plans to play regular gigs this spring and summer, Gruneich said in an email.
Readers of the Tahoe Daily Tribune voted Lavish Green as the “Best Local Band” between 2010 and 2012.
The group, which consists of Gruneich, Chris Sanchez (vocals, trumpet), Rob Wheeler (bass) and Paul Emnas (drums), plays the 7800 Bar & Grill at Kirkwood Mountain Resort Saturday.
This weekend’s show is part of a Saturday night music series at the restaurant, which originally opened in the 1970s as the Battered Beaver, according to 7800’s website.
“We opened our doors at 7800 Kirkwood Bar & Grill in 2011 providing a comfortable, relaxed tavern with a huge stone fireplace, massive deck, and the best view on the mountain,” according to the restaurant’s website.
