The El Dorado Community Foundation has announced the grants it has chosen to give this year.
The foundation administers more than 200 individual funds. One of the very first funds, established in 1991, is Endow El Dorado.
This particular endowment allows the foundation to open granting up to any/all nonprofit organizations in the entire county for any program or service for which they may need assistance.
This year, grants were made to Boys & Girls Club Western Slope to sponsor a child, Infant Parent Center for the Mariposa Infant Program, EDC Community Health Center for a patient assistance program, the Center for Violence-Free Relationships for intern program for client services, Partners In Care for the Healthcare Bridge Program, South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center for family advocacy, City of Placerville’s Aquatic Center, EDC Academic Decathlon for the 2014 Competition, and Sierra Community Access TV for video and media equipment.
Granting is carried out through the efforts of a dedicated group of community-minded leaders; the Grants Committee and the Board of Directors of the El Dorado Community Foundation. Those decisions are based on several criteria: Organization Experience and Mission, Methods/Activities/Timeline, Impending Need for the Program/Project, Sustainability of the Organization, Number of Individuals Served, Intended Outcomes.
To partner with the foundation in its efforts to support and lift our community nonprofits, they would like to remind you that any gift can be given in any amount at any time to the Endow El Dorado Fund at the El Dorado Community Foundation.
