Registration due for Squaw Valley writing workshops

Each summer, more than 200 poets, writers, editors and publishers convene in Squaw Valley for two weeklong intensive writing workshops that include individual conferences, lectures, panels, readings, and discussions of the craft and the business of writing. The goal is to assist writers to improve their craft and move them closer to publication.

Reservations are due by April 2 for the 45th Summer Writing Workshops, produced by the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley.

The 45th Summer Writing workshops, produced by the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley, feature a Poetry Workshop June 21-28. The Writers Workshop in fiction, nonfiction, and memoir, and the Screenwriting Workshop will take place concurrently July 7-14.

The staff, which includes some regulars and some newcomers each year, features renowned authors, editors and agents. This year’s lineup includes fiction writers Ron Carlson, Tom Barbash, Mark Childress, Glen David Gold, agents Michael Carlisle and B.J. Robbins, screenwriters Jacob Forman, Judith Rascoe, and Tom Rickman and poets Robert Hass and Harryette Mullen. New this year is a scholoarship for writers living within 100 miles of Squaw Valley to attend the workshops. For application details, visit http://www.squawvalleywriters.org. Reservations for the workshops and applications for aid are due April 2.
