Jazzercise instructors help Make-A-Wish Foundation

Two South Lake Tahoe Jazzercise instructors recently participated in a fundraiser for the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The event, which was held with the Golden State Warriors, raised $67,174 to support the foundation to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, according to a press release.

Two hundred and seventy-five Jazzercise instructors and customers collected pledges in order to perform a specially choreographed dance routine for the Golden State Warriors half-time show. The event took place March 23 at the Oracle Arena, where the Golden State Warriors played the Washington Wizards.

South Lake Tahoe Jazzercise instructors Shelly Higgins, Jodi Stewart and four of her customers participated and raised $1,200.

“This event is always so much fun,” Stewart said. “What makes it really special is we have fun performing at the game while doing something worthwhile for the community.”
