Canine Association seeks new logo

The deadline to submit a logo for the K-9 Trial is midnight Sunday.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Association is looking for a new logo for the trial, which will take place in October. The winning design will be printed on the backs of T-shirts, sweatshirts, trophies and other K-9 Trial paraphernalia.

The winning designer will be paid $100 and receive a sweatshirt and T-shirt with their logo. Photos of the winning design and pictures of the designer (at the designer’s discretion) will be featured on www.sltpca.org, and the winner will also be invited to attend the K-9 Trial banquet on Oct. 5 as a guest of SLTPCA.

Designs must not included language or images which might be offensive; K-9s depicted in the logo should be either a German Shepard or Belgian Malinois; and designs which feature skulls or depict K-9s which are “overly aggressive” awill not be considered.

All designs can be left at the front counter of the South Lake Tahoe Police Department 24 hours a day. The winner will be selected about two to three weeks after submission.

All submissions should be original artwork, mounted on a hard surface and protected by a cover sheet to prevent damage to the artwork. The winning logo will be scanned into an EPS or AI format. By submitting artwork to SLTPCA, the winning designer agrees that SLTPCA will own all rights to the artwork and will publish and use the art work at its discretion. The designer further agrees not to publish or use this artwork in any way without obtaining permission from SLTPCA in writing. This does not prohibit the winning designer to add this piece and/or display to their portfolio.
