Stateline named HeartSafe community

Stateline was recently designated as one of the first HeartSafe communities.

The designation came from Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval during Heartsafe Communities Week.

According to Tahoe Douglas spokesman Eric Guevin, the designation means that the public has access to AEDs, there are people trained to use the AEDs and can perform CPR, which translates to a higher survival rate compared to areas without these skills.

“We are one of 4 communities in the State to achieve this goal and the Governor recognized these efforts,” Guevin stated in a press release. “We will have signs made that will be placed letting the public know that when the enter our District that are in a recognized Heartsafe area that met rigorous evaluation by this group and met American Heart Association and other criteria to meet best practice standards.”
