South Lake Tahoe Clerk Susan Alessi receives state award

South Lake Tahoe City Clerk Susan Alessi received the 2014 Presidential Award of Excellence from the City Clerk’s Association of California. Alessi was presented with the award at the annual conference which was held in Pasadena and attended by hundreds of City Clerks from around the state.

“Ms. Alessi is an outstanding and exemplary public servant,” said City Manager Nancy Kerry. “She exemplifies the true meaning of being a City Clerk. She is responsive to the public, expediently provides information requested and works closely with our management team, the City Council and staff to ensure that all public requests are complete and timely and thorough. As the City’s Elections’ Official she handles elections matters and is the consummate professional in her field. She helps to maintain the public’s trust and confidence in the city by her excellent service to the community. We are proud of this recognition for Ms. Alessi; it is well deserved.”

“I am truly honored to have been selected to receive this award of distinction and feel privileged to serve as City Clerk. I enjoy the profession and the rewards of public service,” Alessi said.

Alessi’s career with the clerk’s office began in 1986. She was appointed as the deputy city clerk in 1989 where she served until her election as city clerk in 2002.
