STRAWBERRY — Homeland habits reportedly played a nasty trick on the driver of an SUV Monday morning when he accidently pulled onto the wrong side of the road and was struck by another vehicle when he tried to correct his mistake.
The two passengers in the SUV reported complaints of pain and were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Terry Pedretti.
The collision occurred when the driver of a gray Ford Expedition, who is from Australia, pulled onto the wrong lane on Highway 50 about a tenth of a mile west of Strawberry Lane at about 8:45 a.m. When the driver of the SUV tried to correct his error, a black Chevrolet Colorado pickup struck the right side of the SUV, causing it to overturn.
The driver of the pickup, who was traveling alone, did not report any injuries.
