Tahoe woman collects lottery winnings

Tribune staff reports

A South Lake Tahoe woman claimed her $708,769 winnings Monday after nearly matching all numbers during the March 11 Powerball drawing.

Linda Emmons matched five out of six numbers, with the exception of the Powerball, on a $20 Quick Pick ticket to win the money, according to a calottery press release.

Emmons bought her ticket at the 7-Eleven on Pioneer Trail.

She did not discuss her plans with the money as she preferred to keep them private, the press release stated.

Emmons follows a 2012 significant lottery win in South Lake Tahoe, after a player won $1 million off a scratcher ticket.
