Suspected CA bank robber has Reno ties

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Law officers in Nevada are on alert as the FBI seeks a suspected bank robber from California with ties to the Reno area.

The FBI says 22-year-old Gary Casdell Fite Jr. should be considered armed and dangerous. He’s described as a black man, 5-foot-8, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his neck and a scar on his chest.

Authorities say he made off with a large amount of cash from the drawer of a bank in the San Francisco Bay area on March 1 after he jumped the counter and pointed a semi-automatic handgun to the teller’s head.

Fite’s last known residence was in Oakland earlier this year. In addition to Reno, the FBI says he has ties to Antioch and Vallejo, Calif.
