Carolyn “Justin” Baer passed away from complications of breast cancer on March 21st at UCSF’s Medical Center with her family by her bedside. Her loving and energetic spirit will be missed.
Justin moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1978, she was a devoted wife, nurturing mother and loyal friend to many. Among her careers and hobbies, Justin was a Physical Education Teacher, a Registered Nurse, a Real Estate Agent and adoption facilitator. Her love for the outdoors developed her talents as a landscape photographer.
Justin enjoyed the many benefits of the mountain lifestyle. She woke most mornings to walk in the woods with her dogs and she spent many afternoons kayaking on Fallen Leaf Lake with her friends. Justin revisited her interests in water sports during recent visits to Hawaii where she enjoyed surfing and swimming.
Justin is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Baer; her three children, Kent Baer, Kathryn Erickson, and Brian Baer; her daughters-in-law, Rebecca Baer and Kathleen Baer, son-in-law Eric Erickson, and her three grandchildren, Elyse Baer, Sonja Erickson, and Serenity Baer.
