Pair sought in South Lake Tahoe robbery

South Lake Tahoe police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men suspected of robbing a man near Whiskey Dick’s Saloon last week.

Police responded to the bar about 2 a.m. July 10 following a report of the incident, which took place after a 25-year-old South Lake Tahoe man became involved in a confrontation with the men, according to a Tuesday statement from police.

The alleged victim left the bar to avoid a confrontation, but the men followed him to the rear of the neighboring laundromat and assaulted him, according to police.

“The victim reported to police that the suspects battered him, punching him 10-20 times, and stole his skateboard,” according to the statement. “Both suspects were last seen fleeing eastbound through the meadow toward William Avenue. The victim had blood on his face, but refused any medical attention at the scene.”

The skateboard is valued at more than $200. Police are not releasing further details about the incident due to investigative concerns.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a beard who is between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall and between 30 and 35 years old. He is heavyset and was wearing a backward black baseball hat at the time of the incident. The second suspect is described as a white man with a scruffy beard who is also between 30 and 35 years old. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and camouflage baseball hat at the time of the alleged robbery.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call 530-542-6100.
