Public comments on El Dorado County Community Development Agency’s draft sign ordinance are due Sept. 9.
In July 2012, the board of supervisors directed staff to contract for the preparation of a comprehensive sign ordinance amendment, and the related Environmental Impact Report. A public review draft was completed and opened for a 60-day public review period. In August, representatives from the Community Development Agency held a series of meetings with interested citizens and businesses to answer any questions or address any concerns, according to a press release.
The ordinance will apply to the South Shore unless otherwise covered by the Tahoe Area Plan, according to Mike Applegarth of El Dorado County.
Review and comments are requested by the county to identify and consider concerns in preparation of the final draft sign ordinance. Written responses must be received by Sept. 9. Based on comments received from the public, businesses and agencies, a final draft of the sign ordinance will be prepared for the board of supervisors’ review in October.

Written comments should be sent to Shawna Purvines, Community Development Agency, 2850 Fairlane Court, Placerville, CA 95667, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
