Obituary: Daniel Alan Heinbaugh

Daniel Alan Heinbaugh

Oct. 23, 1956 – March 12, 2014

Daniel Alan Heinbaugh was born October 23, 1956 in the Bay Area. He spent most of his childhood and teenage years growing up in the Tahoe area where his playground was the Keys meadows and surrounding mountains. In his late teens Dan made South Lake Tahoe his permanent home. As an avid outdoorsman, he hunted and fished throughout the Sierras.

He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Lake Tahoe Archery Club and the National Rifle Association. Dan was known for his great tracking abilities and bear hunting was his passion. He was often seen wearing his bear claw necklace. An intelligent, mentally gifted man of few words, Dan will be sorely missed by his many friends and relatives. He left us too soon.

Dan is predeceased by his Father Charles W. Heinbaugh, beloved Grandmother Audra Maddox, loving sister Terri Maddox Huestis and is survived by his loving Mother Wanda Maddox and his forever best friend and Partner of 31 years, Laurie J. Prouty.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brothers Bar on Emerald Bay Rd. at 3 pm Sat. April 26th. Friends who wish to share their memories, stories and photos of this wonderful man are more than welcome to stop by.
