Elisa Manalo, 71, passed away April 10, 2014 after a year of battling ovarian cancer. She was an ambitious and determined person throughout her life.
Her ambition and determination led her and her husband, Tony, to migrate to the U.S. from the Philippines in 1975. Elisa fulfilled her dream of a better life for her family and raised three successful children.
She brought friendship and happiness to her friends and coworkers at Harrah’s Tahoe for over 30 years before retiring and moving to Reno, Nevada. Elisa enjoyed playing in the casinos, tending to her garden flowers and traveling to Europe. She loved her family dearly especially her two young grandchildren. Prior to succumbing to her battle with ovarian cancer, she had survived 3 bouts of breast cancer.
Elisa was preceded in death by her son Sherwin and sisters Loretta and Fausta. She is survived by her husband, Tony, son Ariel, daughter Noreen, and her two grandchildren, sisters Salud, Mameng and Josefina, and brother Vicente. She is no longer suffering and is now at peace.
A vigil will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 with a 3-5 p.m. viewing for family and extended family, 5-7 p.m. closed casket with 6 p.m. rosary at Ross, Burke & Noble Mortuary, 2155 Kietzke Lane, Reno, NV 89502
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Reno, Nevada.
