Carol Lee Jiru Hoehn
2-9-1947 to 4-27-2014
Carol was an avid athlete throughout her life beginning as a high school cheerleader, then a devoted tennis player and golfer, and in the mid 70’s even skiing down Heavenly in her bathing suit. As an ardent fisherman, she placed first in the Bay Point Billfish Invitational Tournament in 1991 and was an enthusiastic volunteer and fundraiser for the Anchorage Children’s Home in Panama City, FL.
The daughter of an Air Force family, she lived many places while growing up including Texas, California, Japan, Okinawa, Virginia and Germany. Carol will be especially remembered as part of the ‘Berlin Brats’ having graduated high school there in 1964. Upon her return to the United States, she continued her travels and lived in various cities in California, then Nevada, Arizona,
Tennessee, Virginia, and finally settling in Panama City, Florida for the remaining 23 years of her life.
Carol is survived by her daughter Michelle, 2 grandchildren Benjamin and Isabella, her sister Paula, brothers Mike and Skip, her loving companion and caretaker, Judd and many nephews and nieces. Carol’s generosity and thoughtfulness touched many lives and her loving spirit will be sorely missed by all. A celebration of her life will be held sometime in the future at South Lake Tahoe, CA.
