John W. Bryant of South Lake Tahoe joined our Father in Heaven on July 6, 2014 at the age of 79 in Reno, Nevada.
After graduating from high school, John worked in a logging camp before joining the Navy for a four year term. Married with two children, he attended San Diego State College on the G.I. Bill while working part-time at the post office. He moved to Lake Tahoe in 1962 where he worked in Stateline Casinos.
He obtained a Commercial Pilots License then became an Air Traffic Controller. He bought and refurbished houses. He graduated as a Correctional Officer from the galt Academy at the age of 60, receiving the “True Grit Award.”
He enjoyed boating and after retirement made many friends at the Senior Citizen Centers where he loved playing bridge and poker.
He had a wonderful life and is survived by his wife Patsy Helen Url (Hub) Bryant, son John Bryant Jr., daughter Dr. Darla Bryant-Rose and sister Lois Bryant Solomon, as well as numerous other relatives. He will continue to be loved and remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family members and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life on August 17, 2014, at the Senior Citizens Center in South Lake Tahoe at 10:30 a.m. followed by an open house.
