Ronald Frederick Link was born on June 21,1934 in Oak Park, Illinois and lost his long battle with Parkinson’s disease on August 14, 2014.
Ron is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Becca, with whom he shared 50 adventurous years. Additional survivors include his brother Bill and niece Terry from Arizona, his nephew Bill, Jr. from San Diego, son Ron Graham from Los Angeles, and brothers-in-law Timothy Burningham from Florida and Richard Burningham from England.
Ron served in the U.S,. Army and later became a special education teacher, moving on to be a computer programmer specializing in educational programs. He loved dancing and had a passion for music, especially with a Latin flair. Ron and Becca traveled extensively and loved their times skiing in the Alps where they were joined by his mother-in-law. One of Ron’s dreams was fulfilled in 1969 when he and Becca drove the Pan American Highway to southern Chile.
There will be a Celebration of Life at his home on 8/22/14. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s name can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, www.parkinson.org.
