Thomas Hans Hemer of Stateline, NV, died peacefully on March 5, 2013 in Gardnerville, NV, having lived a long and full life of 89 years. Thomas was born in Leipzig, Germany on April 20, 1923. He was educated in Van Nuys, Ca. He served in the U.S. Army as an intelligence officer from 1943-1947.
Mr. Hemer was preceded in death by his beloved wife Colette Verquere Hemer, of Paris, France. He was sustained by her love and his memories of her; by the devotion of his son, Claude Jean Hemer and his daughter, Christina Roberta Hemer, both of Lake Tahoe. He also had a profound love for music, art, and the natural world. Thomas worked for many years as a labor arbitrator, seeking to bring a measure of peace to the world. He will long be remembered as a raconteur, a wit and a wag and a friend to all who knew him.
