Claudia Claire Schofield Nerdin Fairbanks passed away in Carson City, Nevada on April 9, 2013 at the age of 76. Claudia was preceded in death by her first husband Lloyd Nerdin, her second husband Voyle Fairbanks as well as her parents Claire and Claude Schofield and her brothers Robert, Richard, and Reid Schofield.
Claudia will be fondly remembered by her three children: Wendy (Pat) Aiello, Lori (Robert) Glouner, Stacy (Stephen) Giannetto; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren. She will also be remembered by step children Paul Elkins, Madelayne (Terry) Langton, and
Myron (Kelly) Fairbanks and their families. She will be missed by her many close friends but especially by longtime friend Hannelore Dehnert and Hanne’s daughter, Claudia’s goddaughter, Rebecca Neighbors.
Claudia was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 9, 1936. She graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1954. She worked as a homemaker, motel manager, in food service, and most recently as a receptionist. She resided in Kearns, Utah; South Lake Tahoe, California; and Minden, Nevada.
Claudia loved to entertain and keep in touch with her many friends and family. She enjoyed sharing news, keeping the family well informed and connected. In younger years she loved to camp and spend time outdoors. Claudia was a knitter, a card player, a collector of (hundreds of) salt and pepper shakers, and a lover of weeknight TV dramas — especially both versions of NCIS and characters Abby, Deeks, and Sam Hanna (LL Cool J).
Claudia will be memorialized at a service on Saturday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Walton’s Mortuary at 1521 Church St. Gardnerville, Nevada 89410. A reception will follow.
