Obituary: Ruth Marie Mansfield

September 16, 1930 to September 17, 2013

Ruth was born to Fritz and Emma Marty in Monroe, Wisconsin in 1930. Her parents emigrated here from Switzerland.

Her family moved to California in 1939. She graduated from Southgate High School in 1949. Shortly thereafter while working at Warner Brothers Theater, she met the love of her life, Chuck. He was a doorman and she was an usherette.

Chuck and Ruth were married May 11th, 1951 in Huntington Park. They settled in Downey in 1962, where they raised 3 children. In 1987 they moved to their dream house in Lake Tahoe where they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year.

Ruth was a devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished her family and extended family, she enjoyed anything crafty and she loved her flowers. She tried to instill in all of us to be loveable, sweet and kind. She will be so missed.

Her son Chuck Mansfield, who is in heaven to greet her, preceded Ruth in death. She is survived by her husband Chuck, daughter Linda and son-in law Jim Fishback of Laguna Hills, CA. Granddaughter Courtney and her husband Derick Dahl and great grandson Luke Dahl of Aliso Viejo, CA. Daughter Sue and son-in-law Mark Davis of South Lake Tahoe, CA. Granddaughter Heather and her husband Troy Denkler and great grandson Bryce Denkler of South Lake Tahoe. Grandsons Kyle Davis of Burlingame, CA, and Scott and Zachary Mansfield of South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday September 28th 3:30 pm at McFarlane Mortuary, 887 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
