Corey Rosalie McCauley passed away on Friday after a valiant battle with cancer. She touched many lives with her caring spirit and positive outlook on life.
Corey was born in South Lake Tahoe CA and graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1996. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Lake Tahoe Community College in 2003 and an Associate of Science in Nursing from Sierra College in Rocklin CA in 2011. She was employed at Barton Memorial Hospital for 17 years, ending as a Registered Nurse in the Skilled Nursing Facility.
She loved the outdoors and enjoyed an active Tahoe lifestyle. Her favorite activities were hiking, trail running, biking and spending warm summer days at the beach. She also enjoyed playing softball and volleyball. Her leisure time was enjoyed by working on arts and crafts projects, building miniatures, watching movies, listening to music and enjoying her technologies and social networking.
Corey is survived by her loving husband Dan and baby daughter Danica and devoted step daughter Morgan. She is also survived by her mother Linda Baysinger of Gardnerville NV, her brother Doug Glover of South Lake Tahoe, mother in law Frances McCauley of Sacramento CA and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Michael Glover. Her generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her and were cared for by her.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life service on Friday, Jan. 10 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Christian Fellowship, 3580 Blackwood Road with a reception following the service.
Attendees are requested to bring a single flower which will then become a unified arrangement. In lieu of other flower arrangements an educational fund has been established for 23 month old Danica. Donations can be written out to Danica Faith McCauley and given in love at the service.
