Harlaut captures first Tanner Hall Invitational

Big air, positive vibes, and high fives were on display among the stacked list of pro skiers in attendance at the Tanner Hall Invitational.

Henrik Harlaut, Phil Casabon, Sammy Carlson, Torin Yater-Wallace, Mike Hornbeck, Joffrey Pollet-Villard and Duncan Adams were among the world-class skiers who rolled out for the first Tanner Hall Invitational on Saturday morning at Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski Resort.

It was a hard-hitting lineup, about 22 of the top professional skiers in the world, but Harlaut stood out. The X Games big air gold medalist threw his signature and effortless large-spinning, airborne style to land in first place.

Skier B Devine showed off some big-air moves when he turned the hip into a tabletop jump, airing over the entire feature.

Despite wet conditions from a slight downpour during lunch, all the pros were throwing massive tricks off a custom Snow Park Technology setup.

SPT and the Sierra-at-Tahoe terrain park crew teamed up to create an enormous snow feature on upper Powderhorn, next to the entrance of the Bashful Terrain Park. The setup consisted of two 23-foot channel-gapped quarter pipes and a 25-foot tall by 60-foot long double-sided hip for the athletes to session on in the new annual invitational.
