On the Hill: Hike at Echo Lake

On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today's activity: Hike Echo Lake.

Conditions: Part of the Pacific Crest Trail is on the agenda today, as Michelle takes us by Echo Lake on a 2.5 mile portion of the PCT. This is a great hike for almost anyone as it's got very little elevation change, and to more quickly reach Desolation Wilderness there's even a water taxi you can take across Echo Lake.

Today's weather: It's still smoky today as the winds have brought us the remnants of a California wildfire, but today has 8 mph breezes from the east so we could see some clearing. Temps are still in the low 80s, and a chance of thunderstorms is on tap for this afternoon. — National Weather Service
