Clint Jolly designs a Friday pop-up dinner
Start South Shore’s Restaurant Week and prepare for Saturday’s Sample the Sierra at the same time by attending the Sample the Sierra Pop-Up Dinner with celebrity chef Clint Jolly on Friday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.
“Perfectly pairing regional wines with local flavors, the Pop-Up Dinner celebrates the unique bounty of the Sierra Nevada. Experience the elegance of the Park Prime Steakhouse as your taste buds enjoy an unforgettable farm-to-table dining experience,” states the event website.
Attendees will taste four courses of Sierra Nevada-grown ingredients. Menu items include fig and manchego brûlée, butter poached crawfish, rancho llano seco porchetta, sweet corn panna cotta and more.
“In the early days, 5-year-old Clint Jolly followed his dad around the family’s northern Nevada butcher shop, angling for choice cuts and a turn with knives. At 13, Clint was preparing dishes for customers, and gaining the hands-on entrepreneurial experience that eventually would grow the family business into a $10 million empire.
“Now, Clint has taken his insatiable curiosity and sense of culinary adventure on the road, in an epic journey to learn why we eat the way we do,” according to the site.
Jolly was the winner of Food Network’s “Chopped: Impossible Restaurant Challenge” and named one of the best chefs in the U.S. by Best Chefs America. He is also the founder of Reno, Nevada’s restaurant week, Reno Bites.
Park Prime Steakhouse is located inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and 50 U.S. 50 in Stateline.
