With Labor Day behind us, we’re heading into shoulder season — a time to enjoy a quieter Tahoe, with less traffic, beautiful weather and still ample time to get outside before snow flies. That doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of entertainment, however.

Here are three fun picks:

1. FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE

NFL football kicked off this week, and the Oakland Raiders start their season in New Orleans Sunday.

Find a place to watch by reading today’s cover story; learn about upcoming games in Lake Tahoe Action and betting tips on page 4.

2. CHECK OUT LOCAL EVENTS

Tedeschi Trucks Band will play MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 8 p.m. MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa’s 3rd annual Hops in the Yard Beer Fest is also planned for Saturday, Sept. 10, from 1-6 p.m. Check out the beer festival first, then head to Tedeschi for a full day of fun.

3. TOUR DE TAHOE

Bike around the lake with the annual Tour de Tahoe this Sunday, Sept. 11. The all-day ride begins and finishes at Stateline’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Cyclists travel a 72-mile distance around Lake Tahoe.

A full calendar of music around the lake can be found in Lake Tahoe Action, which publishes Fridays across the South Shore.
