This week’s action: When you only have a two-day weekend to experience Tahoe (opinion)
Tribune Managing Editor
Burning Man is back in action Aug. 28 through Sept. 5 — as was apparent by the influx of party-goers to Reno-Tahoe International Airport on Wednesday, Aug. 24. The Nevada Black Rock Desert extravaganza will attract thousands over the next week, and surely some will enjoy Tahoe before, and after, the arts and performance festival.
So, whether you’re here for the iconic Black Rock City, or just here for the lake, here are a few fun picks:
1. 48 HOURS OF FUN
A quick weekend at Tahoe means hitting the highlights — including Emerald Bay, a scenic gondola ride up to Heavenly Mountain Resort, and dinner on the lake at sunset.
2. TAKE A BEER TOUR
Tahoe Brew Tours takes up to 15 passengers on in-depth tours in three of Lake Tahoe’s craft breweries — to the north and south.
Learn from on-site brewers and taste local creations.
3. CATCH A SHOW
Chad Wilkins Trio; BBQ, Beer & Beats Festival; and Little Faith (at Valhalla’s Art, Music and Theater Festival) are just a few choice events happening this week at the lake.
