South Shore’s Whiskey Dick’s Saloon welcomes Reno-based Latin roots group Drinking With Clowns to its stage this weekend.

At the root of the band’s music is one goal: to get the audience dancing.

“From the thumping sounds of afro-American drums in the streets of South America to the smooth, funky and soulful beats of the North American urban landscape, Drinking With Clowns takes you on a musical journey every time they step onto the stage,” states the group’s online biography.

Drinking With Clowns is known for its ability to play a variety of genres.

“Mixing sexy funky Latin rhythms such as cumbia, samba, salsa with reggae, rock and other musical genres, DWC infuse their audiences with electrifying energy with every performance!” continues the bio.

Surely this is one show that any fan of dance won’t want to miss, as Dancing With Clowns not only provides solid grooves, but also a positive message.

“The message and philosophy of DWC is one of spreading fun and love in the world. Not taking yourself too seriously can lead to humbleness, to awareness and eventually to action, to help others around the world,” states the bio.

Drinking With Clowns’ free gig begins at 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 3.

Whiskey Dick’s Saloon is located at 2660 Lake Tahoe Blvd., and additional information is found on the venue’s Facebook page (@whiskeydickstahoe).
