Calling all Grateful Dead fans — this weekend Tahoe has the chance to hear the music of the iconic rock group. Tribute band Dark Star Orchestra visits South Lake Tahoe on Sunday, Feb. 19.

“Their shows are built off the Dead’s extensive catalog and the talent of these seven fine musicians.

“On any given night, the band will perform a show based on a setlist from the Grateful Dead’s 30 years of extensive touring or use their catalog to program a unique setlist for the show,” states Dark Star Orchestra’s online biography.

Guests will have the chance to hear renowned songs such as “Truckin’,” “Touch of Grey,” “Sugar Magnolia” and “Fire On the Mountain.”

“By recreating setlists from the past, and by developing their own sets of Dead songs, Dark Star Orchestra offers a continually evolving artistic outlet within this musical canon.

“Honoring both the band and the fans, Dark Star Orchestra’s members seek out the unique style and sound of each era while simultaneously offering their own informed improvisations creating a sound that truly encapsulates the energy and the experience,” concludes the bio.

The improvisational, classic rock band has played over 2,000 shows across the world — some of which featured original members of the Grateful Dead (such as vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux).

Dark Star Orchestra’s show begins at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are sold through for $23.85 to $28.44, plus tax and fees.

Harrah’s Lake Tahoe is located at 18 U.S. 50 in Stateline.
