Jackie Greene, ‘The Crucible’ in Truckee highlight weekend events

1. Jackie Greene at Crystal Bay Club

Hard-working singer-songwriter Jackie Greene — along with his seven studio albums, he’s played lead guitar for the Black Crowes and several Grateful Dead offshoots — will bring his Americana-centric sound to the North Shore this weekend. Greene will play a solo acoustic show Friday and a full band set Saturday. Read more about the show on Page 4 of this weekend’s paper.

2. Niki J Crawford at CBC

Niki J Crawford, a high-energy singer-songwriter from Louisiana, brings her infusion of soul, funk and R&B to the Crystal Bay Casino on Saturday for a free show in the Red Room.

3. Jeff Sullivan at The Bookshelf

Jeff Sullivan, an award-winning landscape photographer and author of “Photographing California V2 South: A guide to the Natural Landmarks of the Golden State,” will be at The Bookshelf on Saturday.

4. Truckee Community Theater presents “The Crucible”

Take a trip to the historic downtown Truckee Community Theater and back in time a few hundred years to witness a performance of The Crucible the weekend before Thanksgiving.

5. Woodward Tahoe ski/snowboard lessons

6. The George Souza Band at Moody’s

Guitar aficionado George Souza and his band will showcase their flamenco, jazz and blues stylings this weekend with back-to-back free shows in downtown Truckee.

7. Audioboxx at Harveys Lake Tahoe

All varieties of rock and roll will fill the Cabo Wabo Cantina at Harveys Lake Tahoe when Reno’s Audioboxx, who plays everything from classic rock to heavy metal, takes the stage for two free shows this weekend.
