Run a lap, or run a few, at a new event in Meyers this weekend.

The OMG Fun Run will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, May 22.

The course includes a gate-to-gate round trip run of 2.6 miles on Old Meyers Grade, located .1 miles up South Upper Truckee Road.

“Prizes go to the first person to reach the top of the grade and for the most laps in each division,” according to a press release from event organizers. “Participants who complete at least three laps will have their names posted on our website after the event. There will be refreshments, music and tons of fun — costumes are encouraged!”

Divisions for the fun run include 12 and under, costumes/walking and competitive.

Information and registration is available at http://www.meyerscommunityfoundation.com. Preregistration is $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Registration the day of the event is $30 for adults and $15 for children. Onsite registration will be available at Old Meyers Grade from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 22. Although rain and snow is expected this weekend, the event will be held rain or shine.

The OMG Fun Run is presented by the Meyers Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving life in Meyers. Proceeds from the event will go to fund, support and promote creative and sustainable projects and community-enhancing events in Meyers.
