Craft beer will join cello-based tunes at a new event at 968 Park Hotel this weekend.

The hotel will launch a new craft beer tasting event on Saturday at their outdoor pool facility, which includes a bar, stage and cabanas. Craft beer tasting will start at 5 p.m. and is followed by the return of San Francisco’s Dirty Cello at 7:30 p.m., according to a press release from organizers.

Both events are free and open to the public.

“With the success of our free wine tasting events every Friday, we decided to create a similar concept to showcase our craft beer selection at the CoffeePub,” said Ted Johanson, manager at 968 Park Hotel, in the release. “There will be complimentary tasting samples and all Deschutes beers will be half price. We’re excited to pair this event with a free live show by one of our favorite acts, Dirty Cello!”

Led by San Francisco Bay Area crossover cellist Rebecca Roudman, Dirty Cello is “cello like you’ve never heard before” and “presents a high energy mix of soulful blues, swingin’ gypsy jazz and wild Euro-gypsy dance music,” according to the group’s online biography.

968 Park Hotel is located at 968 Park Avenue in South Lake Tahoe, near the state line.
