Space funk and groove grass — this and more is what quartet The Magic Beans will bring to North Shore on Saturday, April 29.
“The Magic Beans are a band with a passion for music that is as infectious as their songs, both of which have gained them national notoriety in a short time,” states the group’s online biography.
The Boulder-based band finds inspiration in a variety of artists, including Grateful Dead, The String Cheese Incident, Railroad Earth, Umphrey’s McGee, Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden.
“Much like the tastes of modern music lovers, the band’s sound isn’t confined to one genre. The Beans strive to be as inclusive as possible by skirting the lines between many genres within their unique sound,” continues the bio.
“The group uses no pre-recorded tracks or samples in favor of a more traditional approach to music; original songwriting and continually pushing the envelope are what have set this group apart. Whether you like ballads or bangers, the Beans have something you will enjoy. Seamlessly combining clever songwriting with modern dance music, The Magic Beans strive to be original and expressive in a world where everything’s been done.”
The band, comprised of members Scott Hachey (electric and acoustic guitar), Casey Russell (keyboard), Chris Duffy (bass guitar) and Cody Wales (drums) — each of whom provide vocals — performs in the Crystal Bay Club Casino Red Room at 10 p.m.
The concert is free to attend for guests over the age of 21.
Crystal Bay Casino is located at 14 NV 28, and more information can be found online at http://www.crystalbaycasino.com.
