Dave Matthews Band’s fans will get a taste of the group’s acoustic and electric numbers at Lake Tahoe this week.

The group will bring its tour to Harveys Lake Tahoe Wednesday, Sept. 9. Tour stops this summer have featured an acoustic set followed by an electric one. The results have been highly varied set lists throughout the summer drawing from the deep collection of songs Dave Matthews Band has written during the past 24 years.

The group started in 1991 in Charlottesville, Va., after Matthews went out in search of musicians to add depth to his original songs.

“Matthews found assistance in drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville music scene,” according to the band’s online history. “Based on the recommendation of distinguished local jazz guru John D’earth, 16-year-old musical prodigy Stefan Lessard came on board to play bass. Completing the lineup were keyboard player Peter Griesar (who left the band after a couple of years) and talented and classically trained violinist Boyd Tinsley.”

Wednesday’s show will come on the heels of the band’s traditional Labor Day Weekend at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington state. More information on the show is available at http://www.ticketmaster.com.
