Psychedelic funk jam band The Werks is ready to rock North Shore on the heels of their latest release, “Magic,” which dropped earlier this year on St. Patrick’s Day.

“Poignant songwriting and engaging melody come together on a record that showcases their maturation as a multidimensional group of uniquely creative musicians,” states The Werks Facebook biography.

The four-member group is made up of drummer Rob Chafin, bassist Jake Goldberg, guitarist Chris Houser and keyboardist Dan Shaw. Each is also a vocalist in the band.

“This is our first truly multi-genre album,” Houser said. “Each track has its own unique vibe and sound. We didn’t write these songs to please people, we wrote them because this is what we hear when we turn off the outside and let the creativity flow.”

Prior to “Magic,” The Werks released four studio albums (2009’s “Synapse,” 2012’s “The Werks,” 2014’s “Mr. Smalls Sessions” and 2015’s “Inside a Dream”) and many live recordings in addition to playing hundreds of shows.

“In that time they’ve earned a devoted fan base across the world and reputation as one of the most energetic, compelling and downright entertaining live acts in the business,” continues the bio.

The Ohio-based band takes the stage at Crystal Bay Casino on Wednesday, April 5, at 9 p.m.

The gig is free to attend, and Crystal Bay Casino is located at 14 NV 28.
