Hip-hop/rap is headed to South Shore.

Known as one-half of the duo Black Star, Talib Kweli is set to take the stage at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Saturday, June 10.

“The Brooklyn-based MC earned his stripes as one of the most lyrically-gifted, socially aware and politically insightful rappers to emerge in the last 20 years,” states the musician’s online biography.

In addition to collaborating with Mos Def, Kweli has also worked with Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Just Blaze, J Dilla and Madlib.

He partnered up with rapper Styles P and together the two released “The Seven,” a seven-track album that debuted this past April. It follows Kweli’s 2015 album “Indie 500,” which he worked on with producer 9th Wonder.

“I’m a touring artist. I’m an artist that’s internationally known. I’m not just a local artist at this point in my career.

“I’m cognizant of the fact that what I do is beyond where it started. I’m trying to reach the apex of where I am now, but without turning my back on or dismissing what I’ve done before,” Kweli said.

His gig begins at 10 p.m. and is the official after-party of the inaugural Lake Tahoe Brewfest, which is held in the Swiss Chalet Village off Lake Tahoe Boulevard earlier the same day.

Tickets for Kweli’s show are available for $35-$40 via http://www.hardrockcasinolaketahoe.com, where additional information can be found.

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is located at 50 U.S. 50 in Stateline.
