Marysville-based galactic funk duo Shu Lace is out of this world, and will bring its extraterrestrial setlist to South Shore’s Whiskey Dick’s Saloon on Saturday, March 11.

Anthony Doubledee — who specializes in guitar, keys and weirdness, according to the duo’s Facebook page — and Kristen Newhard (drum, percussion and good looks) make up Shu Lace.

“Not much is known of their background or motives, but they are armed with the deep space fury of relentless drumming and extraterrestrial strumming,” states Shu Lace’s Facebook biography.

“Two very dangerous cosmic fugitives escape from their home galaxy in search of the volatile force known as rock and roll! Last seen somewhere in the vicinity of the Milky Way Galaxy, these two outlaws are believed to be hiding on a strange blue planet,” continues the bio.

The psychedelic space rockers’ influences are described as everything from music on the radio and television to sounds in nature.

Shu Lace’s free gig begins at 9 p.m. Learn more about the concert online at http://www.facebook.com/whiskeydickstahoe.

The venue next welcomes DJ (R) Styles and DJ B3 on Friday, March 17 for a night of hip-hop classics that begins at 8 p.m. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Whiskey Dick’s Saloon will offer Ireland-based drinks at the event.
