Paddleboard races and live music will be part of a free celebration in Meyers this weekend.

Fresno, Calif., Latin, soul and hip-hop act 40 Watt Hype headlines Sunday’s Tahoe Paradise Music in the Park. South Shore reggae group Taking Root is set to open the show.

“The event will begin with the Tahoe Games Standup Paddleboard Races on Lake Baron from 2-4 p.m., followed by free live music from 40 Watt Hype and Taking Root,” according to a press release from organizers On Course Events. “The event will also feature live artists, a variety of unique local artisans, delicious food from Verde Rotisserie, and a beer and wine garden that benefits the Sierra-at-Tahoe Education Foundation.”

On Sept. 20, On Course events will host King Sugar and Riotmaker at Lake Tahoe Golf Course as part of its 10th Tee Summer Music Series.

“It’s exciting to not only extend our summer event lineup, but to also bring some new energy to Meyers at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course and Tahoe Paradise Park,” said Leslie Schultz, of On Course Events, in the release. “We are grateful for the support the Meyers community has shown us and we look forward to producing more live music and action sports events at these beautiful venues!”
