Reggae groups Heritage and Riotmaker headline Whiskey Dick’s Saloon

Multi-genre four-piece band Heritage is headed to Tahoe on Saturday, May 20.

"Heritage's music is a unique blend of roots reggae, SoCal surf-rock, alternative rock and hip-hop," states the band's online biography.

The concert kicks off at 9 p.m. at Whiskey Dick's Saloon, located on the South Shore.

"Listeners may expect tons of energy, dancing, jamming, jokes, not very much dignity, a touch of reality and always good vibes," continues the bio.

The origins of the band's name are just as unique as the music itself.

"A root system of a tree stretches its fingers into the depths of the soil to draw up nutrients for the health of the whole tree. People, like trees, draw from the depths of who we are to create and share life through music and words with mankind.

"Many roots, one tree. We all have roots that connect us to each other: Heritage," states the bio.

Sacramento-based reggae group Riotmaker joins Heritage for the Saturday night gig.

"Riotmaker's first release, 'The Sun Has Set on California,' originally a solo project, offers everything from chill reggae to a heavy rock vibe, creating a sound that is unique and appealing to fans of any genre," according to the band's Facebook biography.

The five-member band debuted their newest EP, "The Fire," on April 20 earlier this year.
