Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe will live up to its namesake Friday, Oct. 9, when Max Volume takes the stage at the casino’s Vinyl music venue.

The Reno hard rock act opened for Aerosmith this summer and stays true to its rock and roll roots.

“The Max Volume Band plays genuine Rock & Roll,” according to the band’s online biography. “A blend of blues, acoustic and rock with tight compact melodies and a strict adherence to the roots of Rook & Roll. Seeing the Max Volume Band live is a departure to the way Rock music should be, raw powerful and unleashed.”

The group is fronted by Max Volume, a Northern Nevada disc jockey, studio producer/engineer and guitarist. In addition to Volume, the band includes Johnny Johnson (bass), Matthew “Toast” Young (drums and vocals) and Ed Collins(guitar).

Either solo or with the Max Volume Band, he has opened shows for Frank Hannon of Tesla, Y&T, UFO, Thin Lizzy, Dave Mason, Pat Travers, Les Dudek, Steve Morse, Mickey Thomas, Foghat, Edgar Winter and REO Speedwagon, among others.

Doors open for Friday’s show at 9 p.m. The performance starts at 9:30 p.m.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe is located at 50 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline.
