Placerville-based live hip-hop group The Good Samaritans creates their sound from inspirations such as folk/grass, rock and reggae music, including artists like Ice Cube, Mos Def, Common, Outkast, Busta Rhymes and B.o.B.
“Their music is also influenced by their Northern California surroundings: the mountains, the trees, the air they breathe. The Good Samaritans’ performance connects people to one another through music, movement and message.
“The excitement from each show is undeniable. All crowds, from young festivalgoers to families enjoying a daytime event, they all get involved with the positive lyrics and all the positive energy that The Good Samaritans bring to each and every show,” states the band’s Facebook biography.
The Good Samaritans dropped their self-titled first album in April 2014.
“The release of the album marked what would become their signature sound. Acoustic guitar picking and riffs with electronic beats. Original sounds from the band are laced with positive vibe lyrics from the emcees, Mr. Franchi and Big Sam,” continues the bio.
Since then, the six-member group has released one EP, “Backwoods or Bust,” which debuted in July 2016.
The Good Samaritans head to Whiskey Dick’s Saloon for a free concert on Saturday, April 1, at 9 p.m.
Whiskey Dick’s Saloon is located at 2660 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Learn more online at http://www.facebook.com/whiskeydickstahoe.
