TOCCATA – Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus continues its ninth annual Winter MusicFest this week with the Paul Guttman Piano Competition Winner concert series.
The series includes performances at both shores of Lake Tahoe, as well as Carson City and Reno.
The program includes Bach’s “Magnificat,” featuring vocal soloists Anna Helwing, Joy Strotz, Katharine DeBoer, Albert Lee, Sherman Modeste, Chris Langton and Stuart Duke, according to a press release from the orchestra. Jacob Warnick, the 16-year-old winner of the 2013 Guttman Piano Competition will perform Saint Saens Piano Concerto Op. 22 in G minor. Violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn will also perform Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G minor. Maestro James Rawie will conduct all performances.
The performances are 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Theresa Church in South Lake Tahoe and 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Incline Village. TOCCATA will also perform the show in Carson City Tuesday and Reno Feb. 14.
Tickets are available at the door, at http://www.toccatatahoe.com, at the Tahoe City Visitor Center and the Potlatch in Incline Village. General admission to all concerts costs $30 for adults, $25 for seniors (advance purchase only) and $5 for students ages 19 to 23 with valid ID. Youth under 19 years of age receive free admission.
